HOW IT HAPPENED
The Greyhounds' win never seemed in doubt, as the Crimson and Grey surrendered just 54 total points on Saturday.
Taylor Jacquay and
Julia Kruzan each tallied three kills in the opening-set victory, before Furlong took over in the second.
Â
The junior out of Galena, Ill., totaled seven kills in the middle frame, including five straight for UIndy. Furlong sparked a five-point run late in the set with another pair of kills, as the Greyhounds ran away, 25-16. As a team, UIndy hit .444 in the set with redshirt-freshman
Emma Jones knocking down her two kills on the night.
Â
Not much changed in the third. Middles
Hannah Huppenbauer and
Elizabeth Eads contributed to the Greyhound attack as the team pulled away again to finish off the sweep.
