Trailing 2-1, the Hounds surged ahead in the bottom fifth. With two and the bases clear,
Macy Holdsworth extended the inning with a clean single to left. The base knock ignited what proved to be the game-deciding rally, as three more singles and three walks followed. Sophomore
John Carpinelli delivered a two-run single in the frame, while senior
Joe Kenney coaxed a bases-loaded walk.
Â
Holdsworth later earned an RBI in the sixth to tack on an insurance run.

UIndy starter
Reid Werner pitched four strong innings before getting into trouble in the fifth. He finished the game with nine strikeouts and two runs allowed in 4 2/3 innings. Freshman
Johnny Irish (1-0) came on to pick up his first collegiate win with 2 1/3 innings of work, while junior-transfer

The Greyhounds piled on with three runs in the second and another in the third. The second inning featured four extra-base hits, including triples from both Waning and
Kyle Orloff and doubles from
Ryan Simons and
