Greyhound tennis teams hold #9 and #10 rankings in ITA polls

INDIANAPOLIS-  In the second release of the Oracle/ITA Collegiate Tennis Men's and Women's Division II National Team Rankings of the year, the UIndy men's and women's tennis teams held strong to the #9 and #10 spots in their respective polls.

The men's team, with a current record of 4-1, sits in the #9 spot in NCAA Division II. This is the same spot the Greyhounds came into the season in, with just one of UIndy's contests thus far against a Division II foe. The Greyhounds jump headfirst into a gauntlet of Division II matches in the next couple weeks, starting with a match at Ferris State Friday. The Bulldogs are receiving votes in the latest version of the ITA poll.

The UIndy women also came into the second ranking in their same spot as  the first poll, #10. The Greyhounds are 5-0 on the young season, also with just one match against a Division II competition. UIndy still has a pair of Division I opponents to go through in Ball State and Bowling Green before it also rushes into some of Division II's best the beginning of March.

The Greyhounds ended 2018 with four ranked doubles teams and four ranked singles players, with the first individual rankings of the 2019 calendar year slated to be released March 20.

UIndy men's tennis at Ferris State is slated for a 5 p.m. start Friday, while the women's first serve Saturday at Bowling Green is set for 2 p.m.
