ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – After winning their weekend series at Drury, the UIndy baseball team wrapped up their series they started last week with the Lewis Flyers today in Romeoville. The Hounds and Flyers split last week's doubleheader and Lewis took the third game of the season series today, topping the Greyhounds 3-2.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The only scoring the Hounds did for the day came in the fourth inning on a
Jake Perreira two-run shot to left that also brought in
Blake Richardson. Perreria's dinger gave UIndy a brief 2-1 lead over the hosting Flyers before they tied things up the next inning before taking the one-run lead in the sixth inning. The Hounds were unable to muster a comeback late, falling 3-2 in the Tuesday matinee.
Derek Lasky got the start for UIndy today, only giving up two hits in four innings of work.
Bailey Buescher came on in relief for Lasky, giving up two runs in his one and two-thirds innings of work, taking the loss for the Hounds.
Christian Beard,
Matt Rearick, and
Jake Sprinkle all took the mound at some point for the Hounds, facing less than five batters each with Rearick earning a strikeout in the bottom of the seventh inning.
