Bair's three-run walk-off gives Hounds sweep over UMSL

WESTFIELD, Ind. – The UIndy baseball team returned to action Monday afternoon with a double header against Missouri-St. Louis to wrap up their season series with the Tritons. The Hounds made quick work of the Tritons Sunday night, defeating them in seven innings in the first game and walking-off in the second to earn a sweep over the Tritons.

INDIANAPOLIS 11, MISSOURI-ST. LOUIS 0 (7 innings)
The Hounds got on the board early in game number one, plating two runs in the first inning and coming back with three more in the second. The 5-0 lead lasted until the fourth inning when UIndy loaded the bases for Tyler Phillips who went yard for the second time in as many days as the Greyhound lead swelled to 9-0 heading into the fifth inning. The final two UIndy runs of the game came in the fifth inning when Devon Hensley tripled to deep left center to bring in the 10th run before coming around to score later in the inning. The Greyhounds offense gave starting pitcher Corey Bates plenty of run support in Bates' second win on the year. Bates got the complete game shutout while only giving up a three hits while fanning seven in the win.

INDIANAPOLIS 6, MISSOURI-ST. LOUIS 4
The Tritons scored their first run of the game with a one out double down the left field line in the top of the fourth inning. They gradually added to their lead with an additional run in both the sixth and seventh innings. UIndy scored their first run in the bottom of the seventh inning when Hunter Waning had a leadoff solo shot over the left field fence to pull the Hounds within two runs. The Hounds made it interesting in the eighth inning when Macy Holdsworth went yard for the first time on the day to shrink the UMSL lead to just one. Freshman Isaac Bair came on to pinch hit in the bottom of the ninth with runners on first and second and took the UMSL pitcher to deep left center to give the Hounds to sweep in dramatic fashion over the Tritons.
