INDIANAPOLIS – The UIndy baseball team returned to action Tuesday at Greyhound Park with a non-conference tilt with Lake Erie College. The Hounds had two big innings in game one to come away with a 9-7 win before splitting the doubleheader with the Storm.

INDIANAPOLIS 9, LAKE ERIE 7
Lake Erie started off the game with a two-run bomb to deep right center. UIndy's offense did not pick up until the fourth inning with three home runs in the inning.

Joe Kenney each took a solo shot to National Avenue before
Macy Holdsworth hit a two-run jack to National to give UIndy the 4-3 lead. UIndy plated five more runs in the bottom of the fifth, highlighted by a
Kyle Orloff two-run homer off the left field foul pole. Lake Erie scored two runs in both the sixth and seventh innings but came up short as UIndy took game one 9-7.

LAKE ERIE 12, INDIANAPOLIS 11
UIndy started off game two with a pair of runs in the bottom of the first inning courtesy of RBI singles from
Hunter Waning and
Blake Richardson. Lake Erie went on a string of big innings, scoring four runs in the top of the second before scoring three runs in the third and four innings. UIndy got two runs in both the third and fifth innings when they loaded the bases on the Storm, chipping away at the Lake Erie lead slowly. UIndy capitalized with four runs in a big seventh inning.
Macy Holdsworth got things rolling with a double down the leftfield line, before three more runs came in to tie the game at 10. Lake Erie tacked on a run in the eighth and ninth innings. Â UIndy put one run on the board in the ninth but came up short with runners on first and second to close out the game.

UIndy gets back into GLVC play this weekend when they travel to Kirksville, Mo., for a series with Truman beginning with a doubleheader Friday afternoon.
