BALTIMORE, Md. - UIndy women's lacrosse freshmen
Cassidy King and
Julia O'Brien were named to the Division II Rookie of the Year Watch List, the IWLCA and Inside Lacrosse released as part of its weekly report on Thursday afternoon.
The Greyhounds are the only team mentioned with more than one player listed.
King has been instrumental to the team's success this season, piling up a .535 save percentage (sixth in NCAA Division II) and allowing a paltry 4.91 goals against average (first) in over 733 minutes of action. The Canandaiguia, N.Y. product also ranks second on the team in ground balls (26) and third in caused turnovers (15).
O'Brien has proved to be just as vital as her rookie teammate, totaling 55 points while starting all 16 games thus far in 2019. The attacker has scored 29 times as a freshman, including 23 goals in 11 conference contests, while handing out 26 helpers this season.
Junior
Destinie Katz was named to the Breakout Player of the Year watch list back on March 28, while junior defender
Riley McClure was selected as a preseason Player of the Year nominee in February.
