SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – The UIndy baseball team wrapped up their series against Illinois Springfield Sunday afternoon after the game got pushed back from yesterday's original start time. The Hounds' struggles against the No. 4 team in the Midwest region continued Sunday, dropping game three to the Prairie Stars by a score 3-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED
UIS drew first blood, knocking in a run in the third inning before UIndy brought in their first run of the game in the fifth on a
Kyle Orloff fielder's choice. The Prairie Stars took back the lead with a pair of runs in both the sixth and seventh inning. UIndy brought in their final run off the game in the eighth inning when
Devon Hensley notched his sixth double of the season to bring in
Blake Richardson. UIS's reliever held on for the two inning save as the Prairie Stars won 3-2, sweeping the Hounds this weekend.

Jake Sprinkle took the mound for the Greyhounds today, going six and two-thirds innings. The senior suffered his first loss on the season, giving up three runs only two of them being earned runs. Sprinkle struck out five batters, walking two, only giving up six hits of his 26 batters faced.
Matt Rearick came on in relief of Sprinkle in the seventh inning. The Carmel native did not allow a hit or walk a batter while fanning one batter in his one and one-third inning of work.
