INDIANAPOLIS – The UIndy baseball team opened their three-game series with Southern Indiana today with a single game at Greyhound Park. The Hounds fell behind early, dropping game one to the Screaming Eagles, losing 13-5.

HOW IT HAPPENED
USI put up two runs in the first inning before UIndy plated one the next inning. The Screaming Eagles came right back in the third inning with a big five-run inning and one more run in the fourth inning to push their lead to 8-1 over the Hounds. Another big inning from USI saw their lead swell up to 12-1 heading into the bottom of the fifth. The Greyhounds matched USI's big four-run inning with a four run inning of their own with

Hunter Waning picking up an RBI and freshman
Isaac Bair picking up a pair of RBIs. The Screaming Eagles tacked on one more run in the bottom of the seventh to push their lead up to 13-5.

Junior
Reid Werner took the bump for the Hounds and took his first loss of the season. Werner went four and two-thirds innings, giving up 12 runs on 10 hits while fanning three.
Parker Nolan came in and pitched two innings in relief before
Cole Humphrey and
Nick Foy finished the final two-and-a third innings. Humphrey struck out three of the five batters he face only giving up one hit and walking another.

The Hounds and Screaming Eagles wrap up their season series tomorrow at Greyhound Park with a doubleheader beginning at 12 pm.
