Offense goes cold in series finale against Bellarmine

INDIANAPOLIS – The UIndy baseball team capped off their series against the Bellarmine Knights Tuesday afternoon at Greyhound Park. The two teams split a doubleheader in Louisville last week, but the Knights took game three of the series today, beating the Hounds 13-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Bellarmine took an early 2-0 lead after scoring runs in the top of the second and third innings. The Knights exploded for five runs in the fourth inning to blow the game wide open. The Greyhounds finally got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the sixth inning after a Devon Hensley fly out to right field brought in Kyle Orloff. UIndy plated one more run in the bottom of the eighth inning on a Hunter Waning double to right center brought Ryan Simons across home plate. Bellarmine tacked on two more runs with a homerun in the ninth before winning 13-2

Derek Lasky got the start for the Greyhounds today, pitching three innings before Parker Nolan came on in relief. Nolan was one of six Greyhounds to pitch an inning for the Hounds in relief today. Jon Crawford came on in the fifth inning to face three Knights batters, striking out two of them. Nick Foy, Cole Humphrey, John Hendry, and Zach Saffell were the other pitchers for UIndy to finish game three of the season series.
