Women's Soccer announces 2019 schedule

INDIANAPOLIS – Fifth-year head coach Holly Cox unveiled the 2019 schedule for the UIndy women's soccer team Monday afternoon. The Greyhounds are coming off a 9-7-2 campaign in 2018, and return several players with valuable experience from last year's squad including on All-GLVC selection in forward Amanda Meyer.

With the addition of Lindenwood and Southwest Baptist to the GLVC, UIndy was limited to just two non-conference games this season. The Hounds will face two familiar opponents in Purdue Northwest and Wisconsin-Parkside of the GLIAC, the Greyhounds defeated both the Pride and the Rangers last season.

UIndy jumps right into conference play in mid-September when they host longtime rival Bellarmine on a Sunday afternoon at Key Stadium. The Hounds and Knights faced off in the final game of the regular season last year when UIndy topped Bellarmine in Louisville in double overtime on a Kaylee Zimbelmann goal in the 106th minute for the 1-0 victory.

Coach Cox had this to say about her team's 2019 slate, "we open up with Purdue Northwest and Wisconsin-Parkside on the road before heading right into conference play this year, two good games to get us ready for the rigors of the GLVC schedule. We are back at 16 teams in the GLVC, our conference schedule is good for us this year. We are home often and not too many split trips thankfully, we do have a couple long trips that I am sure our girls are looking forward to. We are excited and ready to get to work for the season!"
