Women's Basketball Announces Four Newcomers for 2019-20

INDIANAPOLIS – The UIndy women's basketball program will welcome four new faces to the team for the 2019-20 season. Fourth-year head coach Kristin Wodrich and her staff will have one incoming freshman to go along with three D-I transfers for the upcoming season.

Paige Barret PAIGE BARRETT
5-9  |  F  | Scottsburg, IN  |  Scottsburg HS  |  Murray State

Paige Barrett comes to UIndy after spending her last two seasons with Murray State. Barrett returns to the Hoosier State where she was a three-time all-conference selection during her time at Scottsburg High School. After averaging a double-double for two years with the Warriorettes, Barrett finished her career with nearly 1,400 career points and 800 rebounds on her way to being named honorable mention all-state by the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association.

Wodrich on the former Racer joining UIndy, "Paige has the ability to stretch the defense with her mid-range game as well as score on the block. Her ability to rebound is going to really help us this year."

Knobloch MARISSA KNOBLOCH
5-6  |  G  |  Marengo, IL  |  Marengo HS

Marissa Knobloch is the lone freshman in this year's class. The 5-6 guard from Marengo, Ill., was a three-time unanimous all-conference selection for the Marengo Indians. Knobloch finished her prep career as the Northwest Herald's Girls Basketball Player of the Year as well as being named second-team all-state in the state of Illinois.

Coach Wodrich on the freshman: "We are excited to have Marissa join our basketball family. While she is our only true freshmen, she is a tireless worker who is always in the gym and in the weight room. Her work ethic and ability to score the ball is really going to add to the depth of our basketball team."

Telfair McKENZY TELFAIR
5-11  |  F  |  Indianapolis  |  Cardinal Ritter HS  |  Indiana State

McKenzy Telfair makes her return to the Circle City after previously playing at Indiana State. The Cardinal Ritter product helped lead the Raiders to a state championship her junior season before coming back her senior season averaging 22 points per game as well as 13 rebounds per game, earning her all-conference and all-city honors.

Coach Wodrich on Telfair, "McKenzy is a local player who played high school basketball right here in Indianapolis. Her athleticism, versatility and experience are going to be a great addition."

Towery JORDAN TOWERY
5-5  |  G  |  Matteson, IL  |  Rich East HS  |  Texas Southern

Jordan Towery rounds out the Hounds' class. The guard from Rich East High School in Illinois comes to UIndy after spending last season at Texas Southern. As a prep, Towery was a four-time all-conference selection in basketball as well as a three-time all-conference selection in soccer.

"Jordan is a pass-first point guard who comes to us from Texas Southern," said Wodrich. "She is a competitive point guard who likes to get out and defend."

Coach Wodrich on what this class brings to this year's squad, "these four new additions are going to bring competitiveness, athleticism, and some more experience to our basketball team. We are excited to add them to our UIndy family."
