INDIANAPOLIS – The UIndy men's soccer team was the final Greyhound team in action Friday night. Coming off an overtime loss Sunday at McKendree, the Hounds came out Friday night against Truman with an all-around offensive effort to beat the Bulldogs 3-0.
Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Greyhound victory began early on in the game. The Hounds netted a pair of goals in the first half, with senior captain
Ben Rohder scoring the first. Rohder's goal in the 18th minute came off a pass from freshman
Bryan Moreira making his first start in his college career. Another freshman got in on the action in the 41st minute, New Zealand native
Seth Ward scored his second goal in the last three UIndy games to give the Hounds the 2-0 lead heading into the break.
Â
The second half was about protecting the lead for the Greyhounds but not being too conservative down the stretch. The UIndy defense was up to the task in the final 45 minutes, keeping goal keeper
Dimitrios Karousos' save total down to just three in the second half. The Hounds were able to tally another goal in the 77th minute when
Seth Ward returned the favor to
Ewan Lynch, setting up Lynch for his first goal of the year as the Greyhounds went on to win 3-0.
