INDIANAPOLIS – The UIndy volleyball team (9-2, 1-0 GLVC) opened league action on Friday evening with a commanding sweep over the visiting Maryville Saints (4-9, 0-1 GLVC).
Katie Furlong led the Greyhounds attack with 12 kills on .588 hitting, while
Alyssa Spears handed out 43 assists.

UIndy attacked at a .438 clip as a team, with
Emma Jones (9),
Taylor Jacquay (9) and
Hannah Huppenbauer (8) also played a large role.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Jacquay paced the UIndy offense from the beginning, registering six kills in the first set, as
Elizabeth Eads also chipped in four putaways.
MaKenna Barnhart, who scooped up four digs in the frame, also tallied the lone service ace against the Saints.

The second set proved no different as the opener, with the Greyhounds limiting the Saints to just .148 hitting. Jones was on a tear, totaling eight of her nine kills in the set. The redshirt-freshman attacked .727 in her two sets during the win.

The Greyhounds' offense kept its hot streak alive in the final frame, as six more players had at least one kill.
De'Janea Johnson and
Grace Hegwood contributed to the attack, combing for four kills.
