INDIANAPOLIS – It was a tale of two halves for the UIndy women's basketball team Thursday night when the Greyhounds hosted the Lindenwood Lions for the first time in program history. After trailing by 10 points at halftime, the Hounds shot over 42 percent from the floor while shutting down the Lindenwood offense to go on to win 61-58.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The first half was not easy for UIndy, after leading by just three after a
Laura Thomas triple a minute into the game, UIndy would not lead for the remainder of the half. The Greyhounds could not stop the Lions inside as Kallie Bildner finished the first half with 19 points and 10 rebounds to lead the visitors to a 33-23 advantage at the break.

With just over six minutes to go in the third quarter, the Greyhounds starting cutting into the margin. A 7-0 run in a matter of just 42 seconds propelled the Hounds back into the game as they outscored Lindenwood 25-14 in the frame to take a one-point lead heading into the fourth. The teams went back-and-forth throughout the final period, trading the lead with one another. The teams traded 3-pointers late with
Laura Thomas hitting the go-ahead three with 35 seconds left. The Hounds added some insurance when
Shira Sasson hit a tough layup out of a UIndy timeout as the Hounds went on to top the GLVC newcomer by just three points

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
-The Hounds have been the best in the GLVC in conference play this season in free throw attemots, getting to the line 109 times prior to Thursday night's game. UIndy only shot eight free throws against the Lions, their fewest in a conference game this season.
-Lindenwood's 58 points is their second-fewest points of the season.

Shira Sasson has come on strong of late for UIndy since being thrusted into the starting lineup just this month. The junior from Israel set a career-high with 12 points tonight, including the game-clinching layup.
