NEW ORLEANS - The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the 2019 NCAA Division II men's and women's cross country All-Academic teams and individuals on Thursday, featuring the Greyhounds in both categories.

Both the men and women made their way on the All-Academic Teams list, qualifying with at least a 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) while also earning a team score at the regional championship. UIndy is one of 148 female teams on the list with their team GPA of 3.75, while the men were one of 120 teams with their GPA of 3.30.  

Additionally, the Greyhounds bested last year's eight All-Academic Individuals with honoring nine for the 2019 season. In order to qualify for All-Academic Individual distinction, student athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-30 percent of their respective regional championship meet, among other qualifiers. Lauren Bailey and Melissa Spencer led the way for the women, while the men registered seven different student-athletes for the award. Andrew Bixler, Nathan Herbst, Will Reid, Nyc Sigmon, Chris Switzer, Kieffer Vittetow and Jacob Woodrow consisted of the men's crew.

The Cross Country teams came off historic seasons in 2019, starting at the GVLC Championships. The men had their highest finish since 2000 at third overall, while the women also placed third in the conference as well. Bailey would continue on to have the highest performance at the NCAA Championships for the women's team in the 21st-century.
