INDIANAPOLIS – The UIndy women's basketball team returned home for their final game in Nicoson Hall this season Thursday night. The Hounds went up against McKendree for the second time this season picking up the season sweep over the Bearcats, winning Thursday night's game, 74-71.

HOW IT HAPPENED
McKendree held the lead after a tightly contested first quarter. UIndy shot over 58 percent from the field in the game's first ten minutes but the Bearcats won the battle on the boards 12-3 to help put them on top. But the Hounds clamped down on defense in the second period, holding the visitors under 10 percent shooting from the field as the Greyhounds went on to take a 36-29 lead into the break.

The Hounds came out of the break firing away on offense, pushing their lead up to 15 at one point. The second half of the third quarter saw McKendree down to just two points after a 14-2 run in a four minute span. The Greyhounds extended their lead to 11 points in the in the first couple minutes of the final frame. But once again, the Bearcats came storming back as the came down to the final seconds and the free throw line after free throws from
Laura Thomas and
Emma Benoit the Hounds sealed the 74-71 victory.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
-After dropping back-to-back games for the first time all season, the Hounds have now posted back-to-back wins.
-
Paige Barrett led all scorers with 20 points Thursday night, finishing one point shy of tying her career-high from just a few weeks ago against UMSL.
-After taking the 19-18 lead at the beginning of the second quarter, the Hounds never gave the lead back to McKendree.
