KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – The UIndy baseball team hit the road Saturday afternoon for their GLVC opener against Truman State. The Greyhounds and Bulldogs played two games Saturday afternoon with the visitors getting wins in both games, pushing their record to 11-1.

GAME ONE- UINDY 11 TRUMAN 3
The Greyhounds scored once in the first inning but took a couple more innings to add some insurance to their lead. UIndy had a big ninth inning after the game was well in hand,
Hunter Waning brought in the first run before
Ty Williams plated two more runs in the four-run frame.
Corey Bates picked up the win after pitching six shutout innings, only giving up two hits. The Greyhound pitching staff struck out 11 batters in game one with Bates being responsible for eight of them in the 11-3 win.

GAME TWO- UINDY 2 TRUMAN 0
A low scoring affair in the final game of the doubleheader, both of UIndy's runs came via a sacrifice fly.
Ty Williams drove in the first run coming in the second inning before bringing the second run of the game across the plate in the sixth inning.
Reid Werner earned the win after dealing seven shutout innings, putting his record at 4-0 this season. An All-GLVC selection last year, Werner struck out eight, giving up four hits, and only walking one.
Matt Rearick came on in the ninth, earning the save after only facing four batters.
