What comes up must come down.
After the Greyhounds' stellar win over Illinois Springfield on Friday, they dropped three straight sets to Lewis Saturday afternoon.
"Lewis played really well on both sides of the ball," said Head Coach
Jason Reed. "We have a little work to do on our defensive side of the ball."
HOW IT HAPPENED
UIndy didn't go down easy, rallying in set three with 12 lead changes until Flyers setter Haley Sobieralski attacked to end the set, 26-24.
Redshirt-sophomore
Emma Jones and sophomore
Elizabeth Eads tallied up eight kills apiece, followed by
Katie Furlong with five.
The Greyhounds were out hit, 49-28.
Freshman
Natalie Thom posted 23 assists for the Hounds, and sophomore
MaKenna Barnhart racked up 14 digs in the Libero position.
"Their (Lewis) defensive effort and blocks made it hard to get our offense going despite being in the system quite a bit," said Reed.
The Flyers were led by Amanda Greening who had 11 kills and had a .320 hitting percentage. Jamie Poppen led the team in digs with 24.
INSIDE THE STATS
