CANTON, Ohio – The UIndy women's basketball team opened its 2021-22 campaign on the road, dropping a 79-64 final at Malone University. The Greyhounds (0-1) owned a slim one-point advantage after third quarters but managed just eight points in the fourth as the host Pioneers (1-0) pulled away.
 
Senior Taylor Drury lead the Hounds with 18 points, while senior Mickey Sasson added seven points, seven boards and four assists.
 
The Greyhounds scored 38 points in the paint, and 16 points off the bench. Overall 46.3 percent from field goal range, and made 91.7 percent of it's free throws. 

The Pioneers were led by Holly Groff who had 32 points and four boards. 

INSIDE THE BOX
-Malone posted 26 points off of turnovers, while UIndy had 17. 
-The Greyhounds shot just under 19 percent from three, while the Pioneers shot exactly 40. 
-There was nine lead changes throughout the game.
