INDIANAPOLIS – The University of Indianapolis women's soccer team will make its fourth NCAA tournament appearance in program history on Thursday morning. The 10-3-3 Greyhounds will face off against the GLVC regular-season-champion McKendree Bearcats (12-2-4).
The Hounds hold the No. 5 seed in the Midwest Region while the Bearcats earned the fourth seed. The two teams last met in September of this year, where three goals in seven minutes lifted the Hounds past the Bearcats to secure the 3-2 win. It also marked the first win over the Bearcats in program history.
The Greyhounds are led by All-GLVC First Team member Kiki Sauceda, who topped the GLVC in both goals (13) and points (28), where the Bearcats are led by Ann Stiffler, who has eight goals on the season and 21 points.
The NCAA DII Midwest Regional begins on Thursday when the Hounds and Bearcats kick off at 10 a.m. ET in Allendale, MI on the campus of Grand Valley State University.
