NEW ORLEANS – After a sizable jump last week, the UIndy women's track & field team continued its ascent of the NCAA Division II Women's Indoor Track & Field Rating Index (TFRI) this week. The Greyhounds leapt from 25th to No. 9 in the latest TFRI, released Tuesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
The strength of the Hounds' ranking comes of the heels of two national-leading marks set last weekend, as both
Lauren Bailey (5K) and
Berenice Cleyet-Merle (800) now own the fastest times in Division II in their respective events.
In addition, Bailey ranks second in DII in the 3K, while
Brittney Clark (15th, pole vault),
Katrinia Hopkins (18th, shot put) and
Zoe Pentecost (18th, weight throw) also own top-20 marks.
