NEW ORLEANS -Â After being placed just inside the top-50 teams in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) women's Division II week 2 rankings, the UIndy women's track & field team hopped 23 spots to reach just inside the No. 25 spot for the third week of competition.
The Hounds' jump stems from their performance at Grand Valley on Saturday, where they notched several provisional marks across the field at the Snowdown Showdown. Reigning All-American
Lauren Bailey appeared in her first race of the season, where she posted the second-fastest time in the nation of 9:29.99 in the women's 3000 meters. The time not only is one second off of DII's current leader, but also less than a second shy of hitting an NCAA automatic-qualifying time.
The Greyhounds' field events hit several provisional marks as well, two from pole vault and one in the weight throw. Junior
Brittney Clark boosted her own provo mark on a height of 3.86 meters, while
Lauren Joseph joined the party with a season-best height of 3.71.
Zoe Pentecost tossed a mark in the weight throw as well, going 14.58 meters.
