INDIANAPOLIS – Three Hounds found the back of the net on Friday afternoon as the No. 17 University of Indianapolis Women's Soccer team edged Truman State University 3-2 in Great Lakes Valley Conference action in Kirksville, Mo.

The Hounds (4-1-1) scored all three goals in the first half, with two coming in the final five minutes of play. Elena Espinosa put UIndy on the board in the 26th minute, sending a cross pass from Olivia Small right over the goalkeepers head for her second goal of the season.
In the 40th minute Dana Youssef perfectly placed a free kick from just outside the box, allowing Sydney Anderson to head it in for the 2-0 advantage. Less than four minutes later, the Hounds scored their third and final goal. Kiki Sauceda fought off a defender in the corner and sent a cross pass to Elisabeth Kessler. Kessler managed to slide and get a shot off in one fluid motion, tucking the ball in the right post.
Truman (2-5-0) opened the second frame with a goal in the 47th minute to cut UIndy's lead to two. In the 89th minute, a penalty kick put the Bulldogs within one but the comeback was too little too late as the Hounds held on for their fourth win of the season.

Laura Shake started in net for the Hounds, making three saves and allowing one goal in 71:17.
Sophia Saucerman recorded one save and one goal against in the final 18:43.

The Hounds close out the weekend trip to Missouri on Sunday, taking on William Jewell at 1 pm on Sunday. UIndy returns to Key Stadium next week, hosting Rockhurst on Friday and Southwest Baptist on Sunday.
