ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The University of Indianapolis Women's Soccer team took their second straight win of the season today at Lewis, 1-0.
Senior
Dana Youssef scored midway through the second half on a penalty kick. Securing the Hounds 1-0 win over the Flyers.
"We played a really tough Lewis team today," said head coach
Holly Cox. "They made it very difficult for us."
HOW IT HAPPENED
Although the Greyhounds were outshot eight to three, sophomore
Sophia Saucerman continued to show her teeth while defending the goal. The Indianapolis native posted four saves on the day in her 60 minutes.
"Saucerman made some important stops for us to gain our first clean sheet of the season," added Cox.
Youssef,
Maddy Theis, and
Elena Espinosa totaled the Greyhounds three shots, which were all on goal. Including Youssef's solo goal.
"Espinosa and (Taylor) Peck worked really well together in the attack," Cox mentioned. "Dana stepped up to bury the penalty that Espinosa did well to earn."
The Flyers had 11 fouls throughout the match, where the Greyhounds only committed five.
Lewis was led by Maddie Levins who added two of the Flyers four shots on goal for the day. Lucy Clark took the loss, she had two saves in the match.
