Hounds Celebrate Senior Day, Fall to Lindenwood in Home Finale

INDIANAPOLIS – A second half spurt by the Lindenwood offense lead to the Hounds demise as they fell 1-0 on Sunday, April 11 at Key Stadium. 
 
The #24 ranked Greyhound's record falls to 9-3-1 with the loss. The Lions game winning goal came by an unassisted top shelf shot by Maggie Weller in the 76 minutes. 
 
CELEBRATING SENIORS
Goalkeeper Laura Shake, Back Dana Youssef, and Midfelder Eliza Denmeade made up the group of seniors celebrating their last regular season home match in the Crimson & Grey. 
 
Shake, a Lafayette, IN Native, has appeared in seven games throughout the spring 21' campaign, posting 28 saves and playing a total of 639:26 minutes thus far. 
 
Youssef, a spark plug for the Hounds, has appeared and started in all 13 games of the season, posting two goals, four assists, and 10 shots on goal. 
 
Denmeade appeared and started in her first match for the Hounds today. 
 
SEEING YELLOW
With three yellow cards given, the game was one of the most physical of the Hound's homestands, a total of 23 fouls were committed throughout the match, with UIndy committing 13 and the Lions committing 10. 
 
Uma Yadav received the Hounds lone yellow card, while Lindenwood's Kaleigh Kastberg and Mia Corrigan took the two for the Lions. 
 
The Hounds offense shined in the first half of the match, posting eight shots out of the total 13. UIndy finished with six shots on goal, led by Kiki Sauceda who posted two shots on goal out of five shots. 
 
Laura Shake posted two saves in her 90:00 minutes in the goal. While Lindenwood's Sam Blazek had a game with six saves. 
 
Weller led the Lions with two shots on goal off of two shots. 
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
-UIndy had seven corner kicks while Lindenwood had three. 
-Lindenwood had only three shots on goal on five shots.

The Hounds will travel to St. Louis on Friday, April 16 where they will face Missouri – St. Louis for their last match of the regular season at 1 p.m. ET.
