Baseball Drops Two to Lions

ST. CHARLES, Mo. – The Greyhounds Baseball squad dropped two matchups to the #2 Lindenwood Lions on Tuesday, April 13. The Hounds fell 13-4 in game on at 4 p.m. and then 12- 4 at 7 p.m.
 
The Hounds now hold a 13 - 13 record and a 11 - 7 GLVC record.
 
GAME ONE | LINDENWOOD 13 | UINDY 4
Freshman Caleb Vaughn led UIndy with three hits, one being a double, and one RBI in three at bats. He was followed by Alex Vela who had two hits and one RBI.
 
Hunter Waning continued to stand out defensively posting four assists and one put outs. The Senior also contributed a hit and RBI.
 
The Lions were led by Mitchell Krebs with three hits, two RBI, and including one double.
 
Reid Werner (4-2) took the loss in giving up eight hits and striking out four in 4.0 innings pitched.
 
Niko Marshall took the win for the Lions, striking out two and giving up three hits in 4.0 inning pitched.
 
GAME TWO | LINDENWOOD 12 | UINDY 4
The Greyhounds got off to hot start in game two, scoring three ones in the top of the first and added another in the top of the second. The Lions began to fight back in the bottom of the third, taking the lead in the bottom of the third after scoring three runs.
 
Alex Vela led the Greyhounds with two hits and one RBI, as well as posting five assists.
 
The Lions outhit the Hounds 13 to four, Kolby Schulte had two and an RBI.
Corey Bates (2-5) took the loss, striking out four in 4.1 innings.

The Hounds will host Lindenwood at Greyhound Park in Indianapolis on April 20 at 1 p.m. ET.
