EVANSVILLE, Ind. – John Carpinelli showed strength at the plate yet again, Carpinelli posted a RBI triple off of two hits. The first baseman scored two of the three Greyhound runs, as well as posting five defensive putouts in the 9-3 loss to the Southern Indiana Screaming Eagles on Friday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
Both teams posted eight hits, but the Screagles found more ways to score – posting eight RBI to the three RBI. The Hounds walked 10 Southern Indiana batters in 27 at bats and posted one homerun by USI's Manny Lopez.
 
Carpinelli, Bo Minor, and Hunter Waning posted one RBI each and two hits each.
 
Lopez led the Screagles with five RBI and two hits, off four at bats.
 
Myc Witty (0-4) took the loss for the Greyhounds, striking out seven and walking three in 5.0 innings pitched.
 
Garrett Welch took the win for USI with four strikeouts and giving up two runs in 6.2 inning pitched.
