EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Four runs in one innings, no runs under
Reid Werner equals a winning equation for the Greyhounds.

GAME ONE, HOUNDS 4 USI 0

Werner currently leads the GLVC in innings pitched and is tied for first with fellow Greyhound

Errors proved to take down the Screagles on their own turf, with two errors resulting in Hounds runs, on top of a hefty at bat performance by the Greyhounds who posted six hits in the seven inning match-up.
The Hounds got on base from four walks, while outfielder
Brian Keeney showed his teeth with a double and a stolen base.
Southern Indiana only got three hits off of Werner's suberb pitching performance, striking out nine Eagles.
Jacob Bowles (4-3) pitched the full game for the Eagle in taking the loss striking out five and walking four.
GAME TWO - UINDY 5 USI 7
A late game surge at the plate against the USI bullpen put the Hounds in a position to make a come back after back to back homeruns by
Trey Smith and
John Carpinelli.
While Southern Indiana thought that they secured their second win of the series in the bottom of the sixth inning of the 6 p.m. game, scoring five runs to make their lead six over the Hounds.
Smith fought back with a 2 RBI homer out of left to kick of the seventh, his fifth ball slammed out of the park this season. Carpinelli followed suit, scoring
Hunter Waning as the ball flew beind the right field fence. However, the late game surge proved just short of taking the come back win.
Corey Bates pitched 5.2 innings for the Hounds, giving up eight hits and striking out three in taking the loss.
Johnny Irish finished up the game for the Greyhounds, giving up one lone hit.
Austin Gossmann took the win for USI, pitching 5.0 innings and walking two batters. While Carter Stamm took the save for the Eagles.
