ROMEOVILLE, ILL –
Emma Jones,
Hannah Huppenbauer, and
Grace Hegwood went one, two, and three in leading the Greyhounds in kills in Friday night's 3-0 loss against the number one ranked Lewis.
Jones posted nine kills and a block, Huppenbaurer had eight and two blocks, and
Grace Hegwood added eight kills.
"We played really well tonight and I'm really proud of our defensive effort," said Head Coach
Jason Reed.
The Greyhounds posted 74 digs on the day, with
MaKenna Barnhart leading the team with 33 digs, and
Alex Equihua and
Taylor Jacquay followed with 13.
"We looked much better, and its because we've been working so hard on and off the court," Reed spoke of his teams efforts. "It's showing and I believe that we will continue to grow as we wind down this season."
The Flyers were led by Megan Schlechte who had 12 kills, two aces, and 17 digs.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
-The Hounds were out killed 53 to 37.
-The Flyers posted nine blocks to UIndy's four.
-The Greyhounds posted four service aces, while Lewis had three.
