Greyhounds Fall in Conference Opener, 2-1

INDIANAPOLIS - The University of Indianapolis women's soccer team fell to the University of Missouri-St. Louis on Sunday at Key Stadium. After taking the early lead, the Hounds were unable to stop the Triton offense and gave up two second half goals. The 2-1 loss brings the Hounds record to 2-1.

"We played a very tough UMSLĀ team today," Head Coach Holly Cox said. "They were well organized and battled hard."

Both teams being offensively strong, posting 13 shots each with the Hounds putting nine on goal, while the Tritons had eight.

Kaylee Zimbelmann posted the lone Greyhound goal, her sixth career goal, assisted by Uma Yadav. Zimbelmann led the Hounds offensively with two shots, followed by Alexi Hardie who had three shots, two of which were on goal.

"(Kaylee) Zimbelmann scored a great goal in the first half," Cox added. "but we came out flat after the break...we didn't match their intensity in the second half and gave up two very poor goals,"Ā

Jenna Taghikhani manned the Hounds goal for all ninety minutes, posting six saves and allowing two goals.

UMSL was led by Jaycee Cotton who earned a goal and posted three shots.
