Dragons Edge Hounds in Top-15 Showdown

INDIANAPOLIS – In one of the marquee matchups in Division II this week, the No. 12 UIndy Greyhounds (2-1) fell to 15th-ranked Tiffin University, 20-17, at Key Stadium Saturday night. The visiting Dragons (3-0) earned their first lead of the game with the go-ahead touchdown with 11 minutes left before hanging on for the victory.

INS & OUTS
With the Hounds leading 17-7 late in the third, a rare interception by redshirt-senior QB Bryce Stancombe turned into a Tiffin pick-six, giving the visitors new life. The Dragons would tack on one more touchdown with a 56-yard drive early in the fourth that proved to be the decider.

The Greyhounds, meanwhile, got touchdowns from Toriano Clinton and Tory Ponder, while a 19-yard field goal from Paul Buisman's accounted for the scoring.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Clinton finished with 90 yards rushing, with his eight-yard TD in the first quarter good for his eighth score of the young season.
- Ponder, Frank Bentley and Alonzo Derrick each finished with five receptions.
- Safety Loren Strickland led the Hounds with six total tackles, while Kyle Borske had a team-high 1.5 sacks – part of six tackles for a loss for the UIndy D.
- Michael Brown garnered the lone UIndy takeaway with a third-quarter pick and subsequent 15-yard return.
