INDIANAPOLIS – The Greyhounds knew what needed to happen coming into the second half, and they executed.
The University of Indianapolis women's Basketball team shot 75 percent in the third and fourth quarter in downing the Lewis Flyers, 69-56, on Thursday night in Nicoson Hall. The win marks the Hounds second win over Lewis this season and the Hounds second conference win.
HOW IT HAPPENED
After a slow first half, a fire lit under the Hounds. Going into half time down by five by the end of the third quarter UIndy pulled ahead with a
Sadie Hill layup to end the quarter up 43-37 over the Lions.
That was just the beginning, keeping the Lions stagnant the Hounds scored 11 unanswered points, shooting 71 percent from the field and 50 percent from three. Extending its lead to 54-37 by the four-minute mark.
The Greyhounds played their best offensive match of conference play, making 100 percent of their free throws, and shooting just under 50 percent from the field.
Elana Wells posted 17 points in leading the Hounds in points, while 2021 All-GLVC senior
Mickey Sasson continued to show dominance with 13 points and eight rebounds.
Lewis was led by Katheryn Schmidt who had 13 points.
