HAMMOND, Ind. - The UIndy volleyball team (11-10) swallowed a tough defeat on Saturday afternoon, dropping its final contest of the 14th annual Midwest Region Crossover to Trevecca (16-8) in straight sets.

Senior Grace Hegwood recorded another double-double in the loss, totaling 10 kills and 10 digs. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
Hegwood finished five of her team-best 10 kills in the opening frame, but Trevecca attacked at .308 clip to run away with the set. Hegwood joined Lauren Peal with five scoops in the second, the best opportunity the Greyhounds had on Saturday to snag a set. However, Trevecca plotted an 11-5 run down the stretch to gain the advantage.

The third and final set was all Trojans, as the team recorded 12 kills on .333 hitting. Three Greyhounds tallied a service ace in the frame, including Hegwood, MaKenna Barnhart, and Alex Equihua.

Equihua also chipped in with 10 helpers, while making five digs.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Barnhart led the team with 11 digs, scooping up a whopping seven in the first frame.
- Hannah Huppenbauer recorded four kills, while not committing an error, to finish with .444 hitting in two sets.
- Claire Morris dished out 15 assists, adding one dig and one kill.
