Moreira Scores Late to Lift Men’s Soccer Past Rockhurst

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Bryan Moreira of the University of Indianapolis men's soccer team scored a goal in the 84th minute on Friday night against Rockhurst to help lift the Greyhounds to a 1-0 victory. With this, the Hounds now sit at 5-2-3 overall on the year with a 3-2-2 mark in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC).
 
FIRST HALF
In a strong defensive showdown with no scoring, the Hounds led the way with four total shots while the Hawks had two. UIndy also led in corner kicks, collecting four to the three from Rockhurst. Goalkeepers Joey Schrand and Felix Silfverhielm split time in net with the duo collecting a total of three saves.
 
SECOND HALF
With the match moving towards a draw, the Greyhounds finally broke the tie in the 84th minute. Caleb Mundell floated a ball into the box which deflected past a Rockhurst defender and met the foot of Moreira, who had his first shot hit the post but his second roll into the net.
