Greyhounds Win Fourth Straight With 3-2 Victory over William Jewell

LIBERTY, Mo. – The University of Indianapolis men's soccer team won its fourth straight contest on Sunday afternoon, defeating William Jewell by a final of 3-2 on the road. With the win, the Hounds now sit at 6-2-3 on the season with a 4-2-2 mark in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC).

FIRST HALF
The Greyhounds found the scoreboard first in only the 14th minute of play. Caleb Mundell lifted a cross towards the box which met the head of Kabiru Gafar. Off the head of Gafar, the ball deflected off a William Jewell defender and Seth Ward corralled it and quickly fired one into the back of the net. Despite this early lead, the Cardinals added the equalizer shortly after in the 15th minute.

UIndy scored once again in the 40th minute to regain the lead. Off a loose ball towards the net, Mundell came racing forward and blasted a ball past the hands of the keeper. However, for a second time in the contest, William Jewell tied the match back up after a penalty kick goal in the 43rd minute.

SECOND HALF
It took until the 76th minute for the Greyhounds to take the lead back for good over the Cardinals. Off a pair of UIndy shots that hit the post and then another that hit a William Jewell defender, Noah Yohannes gained control and executed a third shot into the back of the net, scoring his first goal of the season.
