INDIANAPOLIS—The UIndy football team garnered a slew of postseason accolades from the Great Lakes Valley Conference, as voted on by the league coaches and announced Tuesday. Highlighted by a GLVC Co-Coach of the Year nod to head man
Chris Keevers, the Greyhounds collected a league-high 25 All-GLVC honors, including 11 first-team laurels.

A remarkable 12 Greyhound defenders were amongbthe honorees, including six first-team honorees. The group featured unanimous and repeat selections
Benjamin Hunnius (LB) and
Landry Mavungu (DB). They were joined by other repeat all-league performers
Kiave' Guerrier (LB),
Michael Brown* (DB) and
Jacob Jones^ (DL).

First-time honorees on the defensive side included first team d-linemen
Aaron Barnett and
Dylan Shelton.
Kyle Borske (DL),
Michael Dennison (DL) and
Kivonte Houston were all tabbed on the second team. Long snapper
Doug Haugh was also a first-time All-GLVC First Team selection.

On the offensive side of the ball, star running back
Toriano Clinton became the program's first five-time all-conference honoree. The Chicago native picked up his second consecutive first team nod Tuesday from the coaches after earning All-GLVC accolades at both running back and kick returner in 2019 as well as second-team recognition as a true freshman in 2018.

Four UIndy offensive linemen were on the list, including first teamers
Kednal Alexis and
Austin Keele and second teamers
Zachery Clark and
Ryne Buttz. Wideouts
Alonzo Derrick (1st team, WR),
Jeremiah Lee (2nd, UTL) and
Markez Gillam (2nd, PR/KR) were recognized, as were second-team honorees
JaQuan Buchanan (RB) and
Kevin McNelis (TE).

Brandon Thomas (DB).

Meanwhile, Coach Keevers shared GLVC Coach of the Year accolades with Truman's Gregg Nesbitt. Now a two-time conference coach of the year, Keevers led the Hounds to a 9-2 record in 2022, capped by a conference championship and an NCAA Division II playoff appearance.
Additionally, the league recognized seven GLVC James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award Individual nominees
– one from each team – with Buchanan garnering the honor for UIndy. The student-athletes chosen include individuals who have distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior. These individuals must also be in good academic standing and have demonstrated good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting. Buchanan and the other honorees are now eligible to become one of their school's two overall Spalding Sportsmanship Award winners at the end of the 2022-23 academic year.
