Sauceda, Herrero named to All-GLVC Second Team

INDIANAPOLIS – For the 2022 season, University of Indianapolis women's soccer seniors Kiki Sauceda and Maria Herrero have both been selected to the All-GLVC Second Team.

For Sauceda, it is her third All-GLVC honor, having been a first teamer in the 2021 season and on the third team in the 2020-21 season. This year's honors come off of yet another quality offensive season, where she finished tied for first with Herrero in points with 14. She led the team in assists with four on the year with five goals on top of that. She now ends her Greyhound career with 20 goals and eight assists over her three seasons with the Hounds.

The Berrobi, Spain native Herrero also earns her third All-GLVC honor with her being a 2021 All-GLVC second team member in 2021 and a third team member in 2019. In her 19 games played, Herrero recorded a team leading six goals with two assists. Her senior campaign ended up being her best, with her six goals being a season high, with her recording five her freshman year, her second-best scoring season.

Alongside the two All-GLVC honorees, fellow senior Alexi Hardie was named as one of the 13 GLVC James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award honorees. The student-athletes chosen are individuals who have distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior. These individuals must also be in good academic standing and have demonstrated good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting. The honorees are now eligible to become one of their school's two Spalding Sportsmanship Award winners, which will be announced at the end of the academic year.
