Greyhounds Conclude Exhibition Slate at Northern Kentucky

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The University of Indianapolis women's basketball team concluded its 2022-23 exhibition slate with a road matchup at Northern Kentucky University on Friday night. The Norse took home the friendly by a final of 87-68 over the Greyhounds at the Truist Arena.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
UIndy trailed by nine after the opening quarter while shooting 31.3 percent from the field (5-16). Northern Kentucky on the other hand shot a solid first quarter mark of 52.9 percent (9-17) in front of the home crowd in Highland Heights.
 
The Greyhounds were outscored by seven points in the second quarter and trailed by 16 heading into the halftime locker room. Northern Kentucky continued to hold strong in the second half by scoring 26 points in the third quarter and eventually 18 more in the fourth quarter to hold on for the victory.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
-Idalis Ortiz garnered a double-double with 13 points and 10 boards.
-Ilani Williams-Harris (12 points) and Elana Wells (11 points) each scored in double figures.
-UIndy shot just 34.8 percent from the field (23-66). NKU went 46.3 percent shooting (31-67).
-The Hounds were minus nine in the turnover margin battle.
-Northern Kentucky led the whole game with its biggest lead being 25 points in the fourth quarter.
 
UP NEXT
The Greyhounds will open the 2022 regular season with a game at home against Malone on Friday, Nov. 11. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. ET.
