INDIANAPOLIS – Sadie Hill scored a team-high 19 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field while pulling in nine rebounds and dishing out three assists to help lead the UIndy women's basketball team (4-3, 2-1 GLVC) over William Jewell (1-7, 0-3 GLVC) on Thursday night at Nicoson Hall. Â
Â
Hill was the only Greyhound to score in double figures as
Jodi Mullins finished second on the team with nine points. However, 11 different players for UIndy recorded at least one point in the contest while six players collected five or more points.
Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
Despite forcing Jewell into 12 first half turnovers, the Hounds found themselves in a back-and-forth first half battle with the one-win Cardinals. Notably, UIndy shot a forgettable 26.5 percent from the field (9-of-34) through the first 20 minutes, which included a freezing-cold 3-of-17 shooting effort in the second quarter alone.
Â
Luckily for the Greyhounds, a 13-3 scoring run right out of the half and a favorable 3-of-10 shooting quarter from Jewell helped the team garner double-digit breathing room heading into the final 10 minutes of play. UIndy used this lead to its advantage and began executing longer possessions that cut deeper and deeper into the shot clock as the game closed out. Despite being outscored in the fourth, UIndy was able to hold on and end the contest with a win. Â Â
