Baseball Set to Open Regular Season on Friday in Westfield

INDIANAPOLIS – The time has finally arrived for the University of Indianapolis baseball team to return to action and begin the 2022 regular season. Weather and field conditions have bumped the opening series versus Notre Dame College to the turf field of Grand Park in Westfield, Ind. Friday will feature the first game of the series beginning at 5 p.m. The teams will return to the field on Saturday for a 1 p.m. first-pitch before concluding the series on Sunday with a noon start.

Last season, the Greyhounds accumulated a 23-21 overall record with a 19-13 mark in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The team won a pair of GLVC Tournament games before being eliminated by eventual-champion Lindenwood in the semifinals.

Head Coach Al Ready, who is set for his fourth season at the helm of the program, has brought in a handful of new faces to the program. Click here to watch a short season preview video where Ready and senior shortstop Alex Vela discuss some of the new key additions to the team and what they expect from them.
