INDIANAPOLIS – Now winners of five of the last six games, the University of Indianapolis women's basketball team won a Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) contest over Lindenwood on Monday evening by a final of 64-56 at Nicoson Hall.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Greyhounds (9-11, 6-6 GLVC) shot 38.9 percent from the field (21-of-54) and had three players score in double-figures.
Taylor Drury dropped a team-high 19 points while
Marissa Knobloch (13 points) and
Lauren With (11 points) trailed close behind their teammate.
Mickey Sasson led the battle on the boards with eight rebounds while With pulled in six.
UIndy rode with the upper hand in the first half, leading 31-24 heading into the locker room. Attempting to claw back into the contest, Lindenwood rolled out a big 24-point third quarter which eventually made the game a 48-48 tie heading into the fourth. However, it was UIndy who prevailed on the defensive end of the floor in the final quarter by holding the Lions to just eight points on a rough 4-of-14 shooting performance. On offense, the Hounds hit a strong 6-0 run in the final portion of the game to help secure the victory.
