Men's Tennis Downs Butler

INDIANAPOLIS – The University of Indianapolis men's Tennis team overcame the Butler Bulldogs in a home match on Tuesday afternoon in the UIndy Tennis Center, extending the Hounds win streak to three.

A seat gripping round of doubles kept the two teams on the edge of their seats. Tom Zeuch and Zac Faveri fell to the dogs in a point for point battle, finishing final to end the close doubles match. Yoann Viel and Edgar Destouet took the lone double win 6-2.

The Hounds did not let that dull them though as they took six straight singles wins. Zuech took a close win in three sets, 7-6, 5-7, and 6-2 in the No. 1 spot. While Destouet took the win 6-0, 6-2 in the No. 4 position. Viel held the 2 position and took the win after a close first 7-5 set, and then closed out with a 6-4 second set.

Nikolaj Talimaa continued to prove his dominance on the singles court with a 6-2, 6-1 win.

"The energy was high. We had a rough start in the doubles, but I felt we came in strong," said head coach Malik Tabet. "It came down to a couple of points in doubles, but our players didn't lose composure going into singles. I really enjoyed the energy they brought, and the results showed. Great match across the board and very happy with our team's intensity today."
