INDIANAPOLIS- The University of Indianapolis baseball team concluded its four-game series with Wayne State (MI) on Sunday, which saw the team fall victim to a loss in three of four games.

Game 2 (continued from yesterday) | WSU 26, UIndy 11
Wayne State saw the scoreboard first once again after rolling out a strong five-run performance in the first inning of game two. The Hounds answered in the bottom-half with an RBI fielder's choice by
Armen Torosian.
Â
The Warriors kept ahold of the lead into the second after another commanding inning of six runs across. Despite the massive deficit, the Hounds continued to fight in the bottom-half which saw
Nathan Fish send out a solo home run over the left-field fence, his first of the season.
Â
Continuing to pack a punch, WSU rolled in one more run in the third to extend its lead. However, UIndy continued to answer the call with more bottom-half run production as
Zack Williams joined the home run party with two-run shot of his own for the Hounds.
Â
Torosian continued his terrific Saturday in the fourth with a three-run home run which helped the Greyhounds close the gap a bit further. However, Wayne State added run support in the fifth and sixth innings with three runs crossing in each to keep the game in its control.
Â
UIndy corralled a run in the sixth when
Drew Donaldson scored on a wild pitch. However, Wayne State finished things off with four runs in the seventh before the game was called off early due to darkness.
Â
Action picked up on Sunday in the eighth with each team rolling across two runs in the inning. For UIndy,
Zach Fell and Fish each tallied RBI singles to produce more runs on the board for the Hounds. Finally in the ninth, WSU scored two more runs while the Greyhounds also had a run cross thanks to a Williams RBI single through the left side.
Â
In total, Donaldson and Fish each led their squad with three hits while Torosian tallied a team-high four RBI's followed by Williams with three of his own.
Game 3 of series | WSU 13, UIndy 3
The Warriors dropped five runs in the second inning and one in the fourth to take an early advantage in the contest. UIndy finally saw the scoreboard in the fifth when
Denton Shepler crushed a solo home run off the scoreboard in right field.
Â
However, WSU closed the game with a statement by scoring a strong seven runs in the ninth. Despite Torosian tallying an RBI double and
Caleb Vaughn an RBI fielder's choice in the bottom-half of the inning, the deficit was to large at that point.
Â
Cameron Ginter earned the start on the bump this afternoon for UIndy.
Brandon DeWitt pitched a team-high 5-1/3 innings while
Brady Mundell,
Steven Jones, and
Chaney Morgan all saw an opportunity on the mound.
