Hounds Sprint Past Panthers in GLVC Action

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – The No. 8 UIndy men's lacrosse team cruised to a 14-5 GLVC victory over Davenport on Saturday afternoon.  The nine goal win marks their second largest win of the season while they improve to 9-1 overall and 2-1 in conference play.

PARKER CLIPS 200
With seven wins in the face off circle Caleb Parker reached 200 career face off wins.  The sophomore currently sits at 203 and is the third Greyhound in program history to reach 200.  In the record books he trails Dominic Guarino (2017-18) by just four.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hounds dominated from the start, scoring the first eight goals of the game.  Parker Johnson netted three in the run while a lock down defense held the Panthers scoreless for the first 22 minutes of the game.

Ben Foster scored a pair of goals in the second frame including UIndy's lone man-up goal of the day.  UIndy held an 11-0 lead at the break after eight different Hounds scored in the first half alone.

Foster and Andrew Simonich scored one minute apart to open the second half and give the Hounds their largest lead of the game at 13-1.  James Whiteford netted UIndy's 14th and final goal in the third before the Panthers scored the only two goals of the final quarter.

In net Austin Barnett picked up his ninth win of the season, making eight saves and allowing three goals in just over 45 minutes.  Jonathan Kelly closed out the final quarter, making two saves and allowing two goals.
