Billig, Foster Net Hat Tricks in Win over Rockhurst

INDIANAPOLIS – The No. 8 UIndy men's lacrosse team picked up a crucial win on Saturday, downing Rockhurst University 14-7 in Great Lakes Valley Conference action.  Drew Billig and Ben Foster each netted a hat trick while the Hounds won their 26th straight win at home.

The win moves UIndy into second place in the GLVC with a 3-1 record in conference play and only two conference games remaining.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hounds struck first but neither team was able to pull away as the two teams traded the first six goals of the game to keep it knotted at three.  Three goals in three minute span from Jake Zickel, Patrick O'Hara and Wyatt Auyer put the Hounds ahead 6-3.  Rockhurst got one back but a pair of goals from Ben Foster in the final two minutes gave the Hounds an 8-4 lead at the break.

UIndy maintained their four-goal lead as both team netted two goals in the third.  The Hawks scored in the opening minute of the final frame to pull within three, but their momentum was short lived as UIndy erupted for three goals in 63 seconds to take a 13-7 lead.  Drew Billig scored the first two 45 seconds apart before Brendan Hackl scooped a ground ball off the face off and charged downfield to net his first goal of the season.

Billig netted UIndy's 14th and final goal of the game.  He finished with a game-high five point off of three goals and two assists.  Foster recorded three points off a hat trick while Auyer, James Whiteford, Owain Braddock and Patrick O'Hara each tallied two points.

Austin Barnett picked up the win in net, making eight saves in the full 60 minutes.

PARKER MOVES INTO SECOND
After going a perfect 12-for-12 in the face off circle, Caleb Parker reached 215 career wins to move into second in the record books.  He passed Dominic Guarino (2017-18) at 207 and now trails only Robbie Berardi (2016-20) at 517.
