INDIANAPOLIS—In a battle of two of the top teams in the Midwest, the second-ranked UIndy softball team spilt a midweek doubleheader versus non-conference Ohio Dominican Tuesday evening. Ranked No. 6 in the latest
regional poll, ODU recorded its 15 straight win with a 4-0 victory in game one, but the Greyhounds answered with a convincing 10-2 win to snap its streak and salvage the split.

The Panthers broke a scoreless tie in fourth with an RBI double from third baseman Braxton Downs. It marked the only earned run allowed by UIndy starter
Kenzee Smith (22-4).

Gianni Iannantone led the Greyhound offense with two hits apiece, with Iannantone adding a base on balls.

The final score marked the first time this season to Hounds failed to score a run.

The bats came alive in the second game, as UIndy hung 10 tallies on the board and run-ruled the Panthers in five. UIndy matched a season high with three home runs, with Rees' three-run bomb supplementing
Tara Williams' pair of dingers. It marked the first multi-homer game for Williams, who finished with a personal-best five ribbies.

Haylie Foster got the complete-game win in the circle, allowing just four hits on zero walks to notched win No. 20.

Jocelyn Calvin the start at second, as both finished 2-for-3 with a run scored. Iannantone added a single, a walk and two runs scored, and
Megan Nichols scored twice.

Tuesday's action wrapped up the home slate for the Hounds as they finish the regular season 14-2 at Baumgartner Field. UIndy hits the road to face Maryville and Lindenwood this weekend before the GLVC Tournament starts next week.
