KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – An offensive surge that began in the fifth inning and ran through the eighth went in the favor of the University of Indianapolis baseball team, who took its third straight conference win of the weekend over Truman on Sunday in Kirksville.
Â
The bats came alive as UIndy had 15 total hits which included eight different players recording at least one. Most notably,
Drew Donaldson had a stellar afternoon by going 4-for-5 from the plate with three runs scored. His teammate and freshman
Armen Torosian trailed right behind him with three hits of his own. The Hounds also spread around the RBI total with six different players having one to their name, led by
Zack Williams with three and
Jared Bujdos with two.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Despite facing an early deficit after Truman crossed two in the bottom half of the first, UIndy would answer a half inning later when Williams corralled an RBI single.
Â
The Bulldogs added another run in the fourth, but this eventually led to the Greyhounds bringing the power on offense with a combined eight runs through the following four innings of play. Most notably, this big stretch included a four-run sixth by the team and Williams hitting a solo homer in the seventh, his second of the weekend and third of the season. Truman had no answer and stayed at three runs for the remainder of the contest.
