UIndy Removes Interim Tag as Noble Officially Takes Over as Swimming & Diving Head Coach

Brent NobleINDIANAPOLIS—The University of Indianapolis announced Brent Noble Tuesday as the next head coach of the Greyhound men's and women's swimming & diving programs. After being named the interim head coach in December, Noble guided the UIndy women's team to a school-record second-place finish at the 2022 NCAA DII Championships and the men's squad to a third-place showing.

"Brent has shown tremendous leadership since he was named interim," said Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Scott Young. "He led both of our swimming and diving teams to podium finishes at Nationals after a challenging season.

"He has cultivated good relationships with the student-athletes, and combined with his previous head coaching experience, I'm confident he is the right fight to continue to lead the program."

UIndy racked up a program-record 94 combined All-America honorees at Nationals last month. The Greyhounds added 11 school records at the year's final meet while winning four event national championships.

"I'm grateful to be part of such a special place," said Noble, "and I feel very strongly about the opportunity students have to study here and represent the University of Indianapolis. I take great pride in presenting that opportunity to prospective students and playing a role in their experience as they go through their time here.

"I believe in our leadership and direction and am very excited about where we can go as an institution, athletics department, and swimming & diving program. It's my honor to do my small part in fulfilling our potential."

Noble joined the UIndy staff as an assistant coach in 2019 and was promoted to Associate Head Coach the next season. He previously served as a collegiate head coach for a total of seven years, split between the University of Evansville, Wabash College and Sacred Heart University. Immediately prior to UIndy, he was the Director of Swimming Science and Technology at The Race Club in Islamorada, Fla.
