Late Game Success Helps Baseball Win Another Over Missouri S&T

INDIANAPOLIS- Twelve combined runs between the seventh and eighth innings helped lift the University of Indianapolis baseball team to a 14-8 win over Missouri S&T on Saturday afternoon at Greyhound Park. With the win, UIndy, who has now won six of its last seven games, now sits at 13-15 overall with a 7-3 mark in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hounds raced out to a one run lead in the opening inning on a Denton Shepler RBI groundout. However, with the help of various errors and a clutch piece of hitting, the Miners added lone runs in the second, third, and fifth innings to gain control.

An RBI groundout by Caleb Vaughn in the bottom half of the fifth kept the Hounds within arm's reach. Despite this, S&T rolled out three runs through the sixth and seventh innings to stay out in front.

However, the UIndy offense came alive in the bottom half of the seventh and eighth innings and produced a combined total of 12 runs to completely shift the momentum of the game. S&T went on to score two in the final inning but this wasn't nearly enough.
